Hi Guys, I am new to contact lenses and to this site so please be gental with me.
Right, over the last 3 - 4 weeks my optician has been trying me with different contact lenses, I need toric lenses and I currently wear vary-focal glasses, the optician has said I can't get bifocal contacts in my prescription, so she is trying me with monovision lenses.
I am right handed but my dominant eye is my left eye. I received the new contact lenses yesterday and have worn them for a few hours and everything is still blurry. I know they take weeks and months to get used to but I have noticed the lens for distance I have been given is in my right eye (non dominant) and the near vision lens is in the dominant eye. Is this correct, everywhere I read it should be the other way round, or is it normal for the optician to put them the other way round? i.e. the distance lens in the non dominant eye.
I don't want to go back to the optician, telling her she has made a mistake to find out it is correct and feel like a right prat.
Any advice on this would be most appreciated.

Just for info my last spectical prescription is
Right Eye
Distance - sph +1.25, cyl -2.50, axis 120.0 Near - sph +2.50, cyl -2.50, axis 120
Left Eye
Distance - sph +0.75, cyl -1.75, axis 58.0 Near - sph +2.00, cyl -1.75, axis 58.0
What they have given me for these contact lenses is
Right Eye
8.7, 14.5, +0.75, -0.75 x 120
Left Eye
8.7, 14.5, +2.00, -0.75 x 070
To be honest i don't understand fully what all this means so could not say if the optician is right or not..

Hi! Your vision is extremely important to you, right? NEVER worry about asking too many questions. My Doctor had my lenses backwards. They thought my dominant eye was on the left, when it was actually my right eye. She switched the contacts and also adjusted the prescription and what a difference! I was almost ready to accept the contacts the way they were because it was better than nothing. Keep going back until you are they get it right. It's their job. Just thank them for being so willing to work with you as long as it takes. I have gone back 5 times and I still feel like there is alittle more the Doctor may need to do. Hope I have helped. Don't settle. hope ur eyes always be good.. thanks......
