I always used Acuvue lenses. I could never think about changing my lens. Accidentally I had to use Avaira for few days as neighbour hood store has run out of Acuvue ones. I was really sceptical to deviate from my usual brand. I browsed net for hours for reviews of Avaira. Overall the feedback was good. So I went ahead and started using it. It was very comfortable. I always have a fresh and wet feeling in my eyes. Even if I travel a lot, it does not seem to be much irritating to wear lenses. But in sunlight, I have to wear sunglasses to protect my eyes off the heat and rays. The lens does not suffice to block the UV rays as in the advertisement. I have never tried the lens in shower or in water. Don’t know how it is going to be. Normally Acuvue lenses fall down in hand if you go in shower wearing those. As per advertisement these lenses are made from a unique material that attracts and binds water within the lens itself. This will keep the lens moist and comfortable. No need of any additional wetting agents and surface treatments. Over all I am switching from Acuvue to Avaira. Lets see how long it goes without problems.
